Before there were vegetables in bowties
Mar. 11th, 2018 12:20 pmIt occurs to me I should probably give a better overall picture of what sort of clothes I typically create, seeing that I am actually here to study fashion design. Perhaps from next week onward I will try and do some form of throwback thursday posts, as I sort through photos taken across the years and the kind of stories that inspired me to create what I made at the time.
I am aware it isn't a thursday, but seeing there is no time like the present to start, here is a personal favorite of mine from back in middle school.

For a while, a local Ryukyu Robin would come sit on the balcony of my parents' flat to peer inside. Pi-chan often caught the attention of the birdlife outside, but this one stuck around particularly long, and he seemed to enjoy sitting on the other side of the glass and showing off his impressive plumage, so one time I decided to help him impress on his date.
Using the fabrics leftover from working on prototypes for the Higa Middle School tennis club uniforms, I made him this little vest. Obviously, being that he is a cockatiel and will bite everything, I couldn't let him keep it on for more than a few minutes. He would have tried to eat the buttons and possibly choked.
A few minutes was enough, however, to gather an impressive crowd of adoring robins on the other side of the window. There were about six or seven adoring fans by the time he started to fuss and I had to take his suit back off. Whether his date was one of them I could not tell you, but he seemed particularly smug when he got his treat that evening.
I should think up some fitting tag to use for these posts if I am to do them more frequently. Any suggestions?

Date: 2018-03-11 01:53 pm (UTC)For throwback Thursdays specifically, though I suppose Pi-chan might be needing a tag of his own.
